Clay Gnome Sculptures

The clay gnome sculptures from last year turned out fantastic and the kids had a very positive reaction to this lesson so I brought it back this year, along with some tweaks here and there. Since I had already taught this lesson previously, I was able to go through the techniques more quickly and provide better tips this year so that the students had more time to work on their gnomes. Instead of just using glaze as we did the previous year, the students had the option to experiment with different finishes using acrylic and watercolor. Personally, I prefer the watercolor as you can really build up layers of strong colors and really paint in the small nooks and spaces of the sculptures.
